Viva la Evidence: EBM + ColdPlay

James McCormack is a Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and is passionate about music and evidence based medicine. In a unique endeavor that reminds me of the incomparable ZDoggMD, he has brought together these two passions in a synergistic manner. He has started making videos to promote the concepts of EBM amongst the common man, as well as the physician, providing the latter with a gentle reminder of what his role entails as a caregiver.

Here is a fabulous video of his, where he has taken Coldplay’s hit number “Viva la vida” and tuned it up to “Viva la evidence”:

This may not be too starched and stiffly academic, as many in the intelligentsia would want it to be; it may not be “scientifically uncorrupted”, and set up within objective frameworks; but it is jargon-free, attractive, well-devised and executed, and carries out the objective with which it was created – to spread word about EBM – successfully. This video is worth a look if one has 5 minutes to spare.

Long live evidence!

Check out his YouTube channel for more such brilliant offerings. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
