Five Great Ways to Get Rid of Bad Breath

Bad breath can turn anyone into a social pariah. The simple fact is that people don’t want to smell bad breath when they’re trying to talk to you.

We’re not talking about morning breath here, that’s normal and should go after you’ve brushed your teeth and perhaps had a quick swill of mouthwash. No, bad breath is when our breath retains a noxious odor throughout the day, in much the same way that poor body odor does.

It’s something you need to get sorted and here are 5 ways to do just that.

Go To The Dentist

It doesn’t matter if you use a dentist in Erskineville or Queensland. What matters is that you book an appointment and get your oral health evaluated.

The majority of cases of bad breath are caused by poor oral hygiene. This means you should visit your dentist and get any issue with your oral health resolved as soon as possible. In many cases, this will resolve the issue of bad breath and help to protect your overall health.

The biggest dental causes are either gum disease or a bad brushing routine, and your dentist can help with both.

A good mouthwash should help your breath to smell better. However, this is more than just a mask for the smells. Mouthwash kills and rinses away dead cells in your mouth, this is something that your saliva normally does. So, if you have a dry mouth and bad breath you’ll probably find that regular use of mouthwash can help to resolve the issue.

However, you need to stick to non-alcoholic mouthwash, the alcohol in alcoholic mouthwash may actually dry your mouth, further making the problem worse.

Look At Your Diet

It’s possible that your bad breath is simply a result of a smelly diet. Eating plenty of garlic or onion is likely to leave you with smelly breath and a potentially undesirable body odor.

Take a look at the foods you normally eat and cut down on the smellier ones, it will improve your bad breath.

Invest In A Tongue Scraper

Did you know that innumerable bacteria live on your tongue? It’s warm, damp, and the perfect spot for bacteria to breed. In fact, more bacteria live on your tongue that in the gaps between your teeth.

The gaps between your teeth are taken care of by flossing, and a tongue scraper will remove the bacteria from your tongue, helping to keep your breath smelling great.

Water Flosser or Pick

These are great ways of removing bacteria from between your teeth, the place that you normally floss and your brush can’t reach. The water flosser makes this job easier, especially if you struggle to floss properly.

Add it into your dental hygiene routine and you’ll start to notice the difference in your breath almost immediately. With a little attention, you’ll be able to beat your bad breath permanently!
