  1. I’d never heard of PLoS before, and I am very grateful to have found out. From the brief look I’ve taken at their website, I’m impressed. Actually, just reading their little introduction to themselves on the homepage impressed me; I’m constantly irritated by how little I have access to in regards to science simply because I can’t afford a subscription or am not part of the right organisation. Luckily, at the moment, I have some access to things I’m interested in due to being in university and having access to all the university’s resources. Still, I fully believe that resources should be made free and accessible to anyone willing to learn.

    1. PLoS is the biggest publisher of high quality, open access research articles. Coming from the developing world, I can hardly ever subscribe to all the paid-for journals. PLoS and the Open Access have been a life-saver for me!
